6U enclosure with a single PCoIP workstation, 2X RenderStream Ridiculous Speed 4 render farm and a switch shown above. 4U, 6U, 12U and 24U enclosures available depending on needs.
RenderStream is pleased to announce Artie, a highly scalable and secure turnkey solution targeted for small to mid-size production houses. Modeled after Omnia, Artie is designed to easily scale up as your business grows. Everything you need to succeed is housed in a small easy to manage, highly secure rack. In the simplest configuration , Artie can be configured with a single rack mounded workstation and RenderStream’s Ridiculous Speed render farm. In the most advanced configuration, Artie can come complete with PCoIP workstations, PCoIP compositing workstations, a RenderStream renderfarm, Qube! Supervisor Server, switches and UPS.
All of the Artie’s components easily stack in a small enclosure thus reducing unnecessary hardware clutter in your office. And like Artie’s big brother Omnia, Artie can be shipped to your facility fully wired with your desired software pre installed allowing you to get up and running in no time.
Lets examine the key features of Artie..
Scalability:
Let’s say for example your are a freelance artist or a small 1-5 person production studio. You are currently seeing an increasing workload and it’s becoming clear you need to upgrade your hardware. You are starting to have issues with long render times and jobs waiting in queue. Your current workload dictates you might need to hire additional artists in the near future. If any of that sounds familiar, you should consider Artie as it can be configured to accommodate your current workload, while leaving plenty space to add additional workstations and render nodes. Artie is designed to grow with your business.
Artie is available in 4U, 6U (Shown above), 12U and 24U enclosures. If you feel your needs require a larger enclosure, please take a look at RenderStream Omnia.
Extremely Quiet:
We realize many of you don’t have a dedicated server room, especially those who work in a home office. Even with only a few workstations and a small render farm, the sound from your hardware can be a distraction, particularly when cranking out renders at full load. Artie’s enclosure is designed to reduce the housed hardware noise by up to 80%. No more distractions.
Optional PCoIP Workstations
Artie has the option to take advantage of PCoIP technology just like with RenderStream Omnia. PCoIP technology allows your studio’s workstations and compositors to be centrally managed in a local server room or data center. Depending on your office setup, you may have a sever room or you may not. The main point is that with PCoIP, Artie doesn’t have have to be in the same room as you. It could be in the adjacent room, down the hall or on the other side of the world.
The technology provides an uncompromising 3D production experience and IP security. Even though your workstation isn’t right next to you, panning, zooming and manipulating objects in view ports, or scrubbing 4k animation footage on your compositor has virtually no noticeable lag. The work never leaves the “data center” without your control, so if you use consultants they can securely work with you from transcontinental distances provided typical high speed data pipes are available.
With multi monitor support for high resolution 3D graphics and HD media, you will never know your hardware is in an isolated server room. To make the experience even more seamless, local mouse pointer software can be installed so that there is no lag whatsoever when moving the cursor on screen, thus making the signal lag less noticeable when interacting with 3D objects.
Note: It you plan to keep Artie right next to you, PCoIP may not be necessary.

Compact:
Everything in one place. Workstations, renderfarm, switches, compositors and UPS (If necessary). Cut down on hardware clutter and yards of cords and cable in your studio or home office.
Ready to Use:
Artie is a turnkey solution and can be shipped fully wired with the software of your choice pre-installed, production ready. Please inquire for more information.
Artie will require a custom configuration for each customer. Prices start at $14,500 for a dual quad core 2.4 GHz Intel E5620/FX4800/24GB DDR3 memory/Boot Drive and five drive Media Cache RAID 0 or 5 plus two dual quad core 2.4 GHz/24GB DDR3 memory/Boot Drive render servers that delivers 57.6 GHz aggregate compute power from 24 physical cores plus an additional boost from hyperthreading and Turbo Boost.
